I finally tried to set up a blog tonight with my mom, and it wasn't too hard! I will use this blog to keep all my friends and family connected to what I am doing in Mexico. Hopefully I will figure out how to post some pictures as well!
Tonight, I spoke to my mom's Circle Meeting, the Lydia's Sisters, about Mexico and what I'll be doing there. It went well and they were so supportive and kind. Maybe I will try to post my presentation at this site.
Support raising is going very well. God is so faithful! Everything is falling into place for graduation in May and Mexico in June!

Wow so proud of you Lauren! Dean's list every semester and leading bible studies UNC-CH four years and giving your classmates something besides the "normal" college experience by being involved in Campus Crusade. I had my doubts and I guess lack of faith in you deciding to go to Mexico after graduation on a mission trip but not anymore. I have seen God's hand in the fund raising project for this mission cause you know I'm the sec and treasure. I have been blessed especially with our church family at Englewood United Methodist and the unbeleiveable support they as well as other have given you. They have truly honored their vows to support all our youth as our church doctrine states at
Baptism. Most of your support is from your church family and I am so humbled by this. It has given me confidence that this is where God is leading you for this next phase in your life. I can rest in that and mom and I will be praying everyday for you to reach many children for Jesus Christ!
Love Dad
Lauren, I can't believe all you are doing...taking exams, fundraising, speaking to small groups, graduating, going to Mexico, and all the while, having fun along the way. You are amazing and I know God looks down from heaven and smiles when He sees your obedience. The children of that orphanage are going to be blessed by your love, your creativity, your knowledge, your prayers, and your presence as you reflect the light of Christ to them. You epitomize one of my favorite scriptures...Jeremiah 20:12 and 11:20 ". . . FOR TO THEE HAVE I COMMITTED MY CAUSE." Hannah will miss her voice of reason at school next year and Harrison won't have anyone to pick on...What will they do? I pray for you everyday and will continue to do so. Now, may God's peace, protection, and guidance be with you as you "Go into all the world."
Lauren, you are the precious child that has so inspired me and so delighted me. On this eve of your 22nd birthday, I cherish the memory of your childhood. You were a sweet baby and as you know, "never did anything wrong" :)
Of course, we tease you, but you have been a joy and delight to watch growing up. I am so very proud of your academic accomplishments as well as your life accomplishments. As you travel to Mexico to share God's love and grace, I pray that His grace and strength go with you, that his protection and peace cover you, and that His comfort and providence sustain you. All my prayers go with you and will be with you every day.
Love, Mom
My dear Lauren; There is no end to the love and support from your (extended) family! We all are so proud & impressed with your success and achievements, especially me! I know you are capable of making a real change in people's lives for the betterment of them, and you. And that you have found your path at such a young age is truly impressive. Keep smiling & loving all of God's children, no matter where you may find them! Thanks for allowing us to follow along on your experience. We love you the "mostest" Aunt Patti & Uncle Donald
Dearest Lauren,
It is hard to believe that our little girl is ready to graduate from UNC and start her life's work. Well, not really starting because you are always spreading the Love of God. WE are so proud of the choice that you have made to carry your faith to children in Mexico. We pray God's blessing on you as you spread his word. You are so dedicated and we are so proud. You are, and will be, in our prayers daily. Love and prayers, Granddaddy Bill and Gramma Margo
